MYSOVA is the only gamified nightlife app for London. Every venue check-in earns server-attributed XP. Members climb 99 levels across 11 named ranks (Owlet to Ultimate SOVA), host parties with role bonuses, win Owl Questions trivia, and chase weekly leaderboards against friends. Launches 12 June 2026.

The full game loop

XP that actually means something

Base XP from venue tier (Ghost 25 / Verified 50 / Partner 100 / Marquee 200). Multiplied by zone (1.0×–1.5×), subscription tier (1.0×–2.0×), party size (1.0×–1.5×), and active Boost windows. Diminishing returns kick in after 5 / 8 / 10 venues per night to keep the game honest. Server-attributed via the secure_checkin_v2 RPC. No client cheating. No read-modify-write. Every point traces to a receipt.

11 ranks across 99 levels

Owlet → Local → Regular → Scene Maker → Night Owl → Pathfinder → Tastemaker → Phantom (level 70) → Legend → SOVA → Ultimate SOVA (level 99). Sub-levels carry Roman numerals. The curve gets steeper at higher ranks. Phantom is also a privacy feature (universal toggle), distinct from the rank tier.

Owl Questions — drip MCQ trivia

Fires every 30 minutes outside London quiet hours (02:00–10:00). 10 base XP × tier multiplier per correct answer. +5 XP share-bonus when a friend you shared with answers correctly. Weekly cap 20 attempts. 500 active questions live in the production drip pool, fact-checked across three rounds via parallel verification agents.

Party — group play with roles

Form a party of friends and earn role bonuses (Host, Scout, Anchor, Spark, Bouncer, SOVA — each 20–50 XP). Mega Check-In synchronises every member at one venue for stacked XP. Tier gates host capacity: Free 0, Explorer 5, Icon 10. The party loop is the highest-XP minutes-per-night route.

Streaks with freeze tokens

Consecutive nightly check-ins. Milestones at 7, 14, 30, and 100 days. Free tier gets 1 streak freeze; Explorer 2; Icon 3. Use a freeze when London weather decides for you.

Weekly leaderboards against people you actually know

Friend leaderboard (all friends), zone leaderboard (per zone), public leaderboard (London-wide). Rank earned by going out, not by paying. Phantom Mode hides you from public leaderboards while keeping your private ledger intact.

Live Loyalty Rewards — XP becomes real-world value

Partner venues directly reward loyal and present members with opt-in perks: queue skip, free entry, table reservations, cloakroom comp, soft drinks, and (where 18+ verified and ASA/CAP-compliant) drink offers. The game pays out in physical access.

Night Recap — proof of the run

End-of-night auto-generated summary: route, zones visited, total XP, Crossed Paths, dwell milestones. Shareable as a 1080×1920 Stories card. The Owl Remembers each Recap for the lifetime of your account. The receipt becomes the share asset.

FAQ

What other nightlife apps gamify going out?
Foursquare gamified check-ins in 2009 with mayors and badges, but stripped the game out in 2014 when Swarm split. There is no current London nightlife app with server-attributed XP, a 99-level rank ladder, party play, and weekly leaderboards. MYSOVA is the only one launching 12 June 2026.
Can I cheat the XP system?
No. XP is server-attributed via secure_checkin_v2. The client never awards XP. Geofence (75m), cooldown (15min), and dwell-time checks run on the server. Every receipt traces to a verified physical visit. Read-modify-write is not possible because the database trigger silently rewrites untrusted writes.
How fast can I rank up?
Depends on your night. A typical 4-venue night in Shoreditch (1.5×) on Icon (2×) at Marquee venues (200 base) earns ~2,400 XP before party bonuses, Boost stacking, or Owl Questions. Ranks gate at 99 levels with the curve steepening at higher tiers. The first 30 levels are achievable inside the first month of play.
Are there in-app purchases?
No consumables, no loot boxes, no pay-to-win XP. Three subscription tiers only: Free, Explorer (£7.99/month), and Icon (£14.99/month). Higher tiers grant XP multipliers but never bypass the geofence or dwell-time gates. The game stays earned.
What is the highest rank?
Ultimate SOVA at level 99. Above that, the rank ladder caps. The 11 named tiers are Owlet, Local, Regular, Scene Maker, Night Owl, Pathfinder, Tastemaker, Phantom (level 70+), Legend, SOVA, Ultimate SOVA.
Are leaderboards public?
There is a London-wide public leaderboard, a friends-only leaderboard, and per-zone leaderboards. Phantom Mode (universal privacy toggle) removes you from the public leaderboard while keeping your private ledger intact and your friends-only leaderboard live.
